Engineered beyond the standard. Most Merino sleeping bags are single-layer knits with modest wool content. Ours are different: a higher percentage of superfine Merino, knitted in a double structure that allows air to circulate. The result? Safer, deeper and higher quality sleep with less night waking.
Superlove Merino Baby Sleeping Bags are multi-award-winning, natural and beautifully luxurious, each generously lined with silky-soft double-knitted 240gsm Merino. Superfine Merino creates a highly breathable, temperature-regulating microclimate around the body, helping little ones stay comfortable all night and are naturally protected from overheating.
Studies show that sleeping in Merino wool can significantly improve infant sleep quality - helping babies settle more quickly, sleep for longer and wake less during the night.

On Underlayers & PJs
Your baby’s sleeping bag is just one part of their sleep system. What they wear underneath matters too - because those layers sit closest to the skin.
We always recommend choosing natural, breathable fibres for underlayers.
Merino in cooler conditions
Merino wool naturally helps regulate body temperature. It gently warms when it’s cold, releases excess heat when it’s warm, and manages moisture so skin stays dry and comfortable. This supports a more stable temperature through the night - especially in winter, cooler homes, or when rooms cool overnight.
That’s why we see the best results in cooler conditions when Merino underlayers are paired with a Merino sleeping bag - they’re designed to work together.
Cotton and bamboo in warmer weather
Cotton and bamboo are lovely in warm conditions, but in cooler rooms they tend to hold moisture, which can feel cooler against the skin and reduce the insulating effect of the outer layer.
The simple takeaway
In warm rooms or summer: cotton, bamboo or Merino can all work well.
In cooler rooms or winter: Merino underlayers tend to give more consistent warmth and comfort.
There’s no “must” - just a little fibre science to help you choose what works best for your baby and your home.

Superfine + Skin Loving
Studies show that sleeping in Merino improves the quality and depth of sleep. By creating a perfect thermal and humidty balanced microclimate around the body, significantly more time is spent in the deep phases of sleep (where all the good stuff happens). Infants sleeping in Merino were found to settle quicker. wake less and sleep for longer periods.

Better & Safer Sleep (for Longer)
The perfect weight, a more generous loft and warmth for the winter than the standard 195gsm Merino most typically found in clothing, yet still lightweight, comfortable and cooling in all but the hottest of summer conditons. 240gsm is the 'sweet spot' for the British and Northern European climate year round.

Manufacturing
Merino wool is unlike any other fibre with its ability to intelligently detect heat (or lack of) and adapt to suit body temperature. Merino creates a climate controlled bubble around the body holding in the heat for extra cosiness in cold weather or releasing it to cool the body when needed.
